No one likes to think about the possibility of natural disasters, but we all know they could happen at any time. Some of us are a little more paranoid than others, but wouldn't it be nice to know that you'd be protected if anything really crazy ever happened? Like the zombie apocalypse?
If you have $242,000 to spare, you're in luck—that's how much it cost Chinese inventor Yang Zongfu to build this disaster-proof ball that can withstand just about anything.
Seriously, anything. It can take heat up to 1,700 degrees Celsius (3,092 degrees Fahrenheit), withstand a magnitude 10 earthquake, has been hit with 350 tons of impact, and set on fire...

The ball was built using four layers of steel plating, 75 airbags, and 300 shock absorbing springs. Yang says that the supplies inside could keep a family of three alive for 10 months. He even built it so that it always stays upright, so no pesky motion sickness while you're outsmarting Mother Nature.
