On June 5th, robotics firm Aldebaran and SoftBank Corp., the Japanese giant that owns Sprint (and possibly T-Mobile), unveiled an emotion-sensing robot named Pepper.
The robot uses an emotional-engine to allow it to "feel", making it easier for Pepper to interact with humans by analyzing gestures, facial expressions, and tone of voice.
An emotion-sensing robot could be very beneficial to families as in-home assistants and even an alternative to assisting the elderly.
Pepper can do an array of other things, such as communicate, learn from its interactions, and even dance. No report yet on whether or not one of those dance moves includes "The Robot".
